A sick baby

So, this is what my lil Finn looked like when he woke up yesterday...

Poor thing could barely open his eyes, they were so puffy. Being the calm natured mama I am,  I just went about with the morning routine of getting breakfast ready and getting Finns stuff ready for school. I realized something was really wrong when he wouldn't get out of bed. Usually, he pops right out of bed and starts running around the house like a crazy man, screaming, "its time for schooooOoL!" I told KTH to go and check on him and we decided to call the doctor, just in case. We got him in that day. I was still thinking it was allergies or congestion. Well, turns out my lil boo is really sick!! He was diagnosed today with Childhood Nephrotic Syndrome also known as Minimal Change. We went to the kidney specialist today, they let us know that he will have to take Steroids for at least 3 mths and hopefully it will go into remission and he will grow out of it. The side effect of the steroids are not so good, especially for a 4 year old, they include, extra energy (seriouslY?! how could this kid possibly have MORE energy) , mood swings and tantrums (WonderFUL!!), getting bigger, ie getting puffy cheeks, gaining weight and an all around thicker look (that will be interesting to see), and a larger appetite (that will be a good thing, I think).

I am EXTREMELY thankful that it's not something worse and will hopefully cure itself. He seems perfectly fine, running around still acting like a lil wild thing, but I can't explain how awful it is to think that something terrible could be wrong with your baby. My stomach was in knots all day yesterday, being pregnant doesn't help.
Note, to all mamas out there, ALWAYS call or go to the Doc. if you think there is something wrong with your kids, even the slightest symptoms could turn into something serious.

Have any of yaLL heard/know anyone to have this illness?! I am curious to see how bad the side effects are and how long they last. I don't know how many toddler tantrums this preggo mama will be able take :(

To health and happiness!!!
Have a beautiful weekend

Am I gonna be 4 yet?!

My lil beauty just turned four years young!! He has been waiting for this day since he turned 3, he likes to plan ahead. :) We have been trying to keep his parties low key, just family and close friends, for now. I'm sure when he gets older and starts going to school we will invite more kids, but for now I don't want to have to stress out about planning a party that he more then likely will not even remember.

I did decorate the house, which was easy to do cuz it was already fancied up for Christmas. I just added a few streamers and balloons here and there. :)

Since there were only a few kids we decided to go somewhere really FUN!! The "Imagine It!" Children's Museum. If you are a parent you HAVE to take your kids there, at least once. It's sOoOOO fun, inexpensive, and you can spend the whole day there! (they let you bring your own food for lunch and snacks and have picnic tables to sit at)

After the kiddos played some energy off, we went back and did the whole birthday thing at our house.

We got him an ipad for his 4th bday!! HA! JUST KIDDING :)
He'll be lucky to get a phone when he's 15 :)
(Its his grandpas)
This kid LOvES Spiderman!!

 How cute is Cowboy Coop!!??

A wonderful, stress free birthday :)

Hope yaLL are having a LovelY DAY!!

FaLaLaLaLA

December always seems to be such a busy month for me. I love the holiday season and all that comes with it, but it seems to go by too fast!

My little wild thing is turning 4 on Monday and we are having a paRtAY for him :) It's pretty much ALL he can talk about, oh the mind of a toddler.
Its funny to me that most mothers always say, gosh I can't believe they are already, 2 or 4 or whatever. But I'm like, is he only 4?? Has he only been in my life for four years, it seems like he has been with me forever, my lil side kick, with me wherever I go. Constantly talking and asking me questions, never letting a dull moment go by. Has he learned and grown THIS much in only four short years?! It blows my mind to think about what he will learn and know in 10 or 20 years, lord help me. I know one thing, he will be smarter then me, and that makes me proud :)

Back to the Holidays...

We got a tree early this year. Well, early for us, we usually get one the weekend before Christmas and leave it up longer :0)
But, this year I was in the mood to start Christmas early, or on time. We have been very festive, baking cookies, making ornaments, and listening to Christmas music. I really don't know whats gotten into me, I am acting like a housewife/homemaker and I am really enjoying it :) It most be this baby in my belly getting me all Suzy Homemaker and shitz. Ha! Finally :)

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!
